"Ron Paul can't win" as John Stossel would say "give me a break"

I will come out and say it I am a Ron Paul supporter. I never voluntarily gave a politician money before and this year I have given hundreds. I have voted in every election since I turned 18, yes there are elections every year. I was never registered with any political party and I changed my party affiliation to Republican so I could vote in the Primary on super Tuesday.

Why would I do all of this? I have done this because I have never heard of a truthful politician and that is what I see in Ron Paul. Why do I believe he is a truthful politician? He has morals and principle that anyone could see. Ron takes firm stands on issues and will defend those positions. Ask a question to Ron and he will give you a direct answer no beating around the bush and normally he will give you his reasons for that answer. What politician actually answers questions? I would bet if you could think of any they could be counted on one hand.

Ron Paul's campaign is different as anyone could see. He has grassroots support, and that support is very dedicated and passionate. I should know I met some in my area and from what I can tell is the same all over the country.

I am tired of reading every news article and a lot of the news agencies blogs that praise the Ron Paul campaign and then slip in something like "we all know he can't win". Here is a little message to all those news agencies. "We don't know he can't win, I know there is a possibility of him not winning but there is also a possibility of him winning because of people like me". I will say as long as someone is in the middle of a campaign there is a possibility of winning there may be different levels of probability. If I am reading a news story give me the facts, editorials, opinions, and blogs say what you want.

Republican Youtube Debate 11-28-07

In the first part of the debate when McCain came out he gave a creepy hug to the guy that was introducing him.

The first video that was shown was the funny guy singing. I was entertained by that video and actually watched it a couple days before.

Mitt and Rudy did a little back and forth about sanctuary cities and Rudy said Romney employed illegal immigrants.

Tancrado talked about stopping immigration, Hunter brought up the stupid border fence which Penn & Teller's Bullshit showed could be scaled dug under and cut through in a matter of minutes.

Huckabee talked about giving people taxpayer funded college education.

Romney fought with Huckabee

Ron Paul's 1st question was about the North American Union and conspiracy theories. Ron answered that he does not believe in the conspiracy theory but does recognize that money has been spent and about how some power that was being sent to the UN.

McCain called Ron Paul a isolationist. Ron responded with the record that he gets more contributions from active military.

A question was asked about a pledge to cut taxes and Dr. Paul's response was that he has never voted for a tax increase but you also need to reduce spending.

Gulliani doesn't want to cut corn subsidies. He also said that NYC was safer because he enforced gun laws aggressively.

McCain, Romney, Gulliani all do not own a firearm.

Ron Paul was asked a question about abortion and he said that it should be up to the states and he thinks that the person committing the abortion should be punished but it should be up to the states and the individuals in the community.

Huckabee tried to say that putting someone to death was different then a abortion death. He also said he believes every word of the bible.

McCain brought up the phrase that "if we leave they will follow us home" and attacked Ron Paul about his promise that he will bring the troops home. Ron countered with the example after the US left Vietnam.

Huckabee said he wants to expand the space program. I wonder how he expects to pay for that? I would guess stealing money from you and me through taxation.

Ron Paul was asked a question if he would seek a independent canidicy. Ron actually spun the question a little bit but cited that he did nothing to raise the 4.3 million dollars in one day and that there is a revolution going on and people were tired about the way the country is heading.

I also think that Ron's campaign video was the best out of the 8. Thompson submitted a attack ad against Romney and Huckabee.

Ron Paul supporters donate almost 4 million in 24 hours

Looks like Ron Paul supporters are not just a few people because as you can see from the image taken from RonPaulgraphs.com. On November the 5th Ron Paul supporters donated more the 3.9 million dollars. I am not sure if this is a final number because I am not sure if phone donations are counted in this graph but this definitely includes all on-line donations.

The idea of the November 5th donation day was for 100,000 people to all donate $100 to get a total of 10 million dollars in one day. The goal was very ambitious and almost 4 million in one day is nothing to sneeze at especially since individual donations are capped at $2,300 and couple donations are $4,600. If the same demographics are projected with this donations the average donation would be about $40 which would mean that 100,000 people donated $40 I am not saying I know this to be a fact but I am using previous donations to project these numbers. I personally think the average donation for the day would be $100 or more since the $100 was the asked amount for the 5th.

The 5th of November actually is a celebrated day in England called Guy Fawkes day. You can find more information about Guy Fawkes HERE
The other significance about November the 5th is that the movie V for Vendetta used the Guy Fawkes story as a part of the movie. V for Vendetta is a movie where the government has become oppressive and a the country is in a perpetual state of fear. The fear is a tool that the people in power of the government uses to enact policies for example nightly curfews, roving conversation monitoring and a government controlled media. A fairly well known statement in the movie is "People should not fear their governments, Governments should fear their people".

I was expecting a surge from this campaign but was shocked at the final numbers. I truly never thought that Ron Paul supporters would come out in mass and make a statement with their wallets. I will not make that mistake again I will always try keep a objective perspective but after today I will give the Ron Paul supporters more credit.

NY 3 tier drivers license

This is not law yet but I have seen worse things implemented in NY. Dictator Spitzer wants to have a 3 tier drivers license.

1st tier will be a license to operate a motor vehicle.
2nd tier will be a Real ID compliant license
3rd tier will be a license similar to a passport that will let people go across the US Canadian border.

Ok first thing I see is there will be 3 bureaucracies created to handle the 3 tier's which will mean that the residents of NY will be forced to shell out more money for 2 new bureaucracies and more people will be employed by the state which the people of NY will have to pay for all those doughnut eating wastes of life. The second issue I see is that people will have to pay more for the 2nd and 3rd tier licenses and probably more for a simple drivers license.

Personally I do not think that states have the authority to license people to travel. I have violated this law when I was under 16 and I would help my father on the farm, I would drive the tractor from vineyard to vineyard and would have to travel a state road to get to some vineyards. Yes according to the police you need to have a drivers license to drive a tractor on a road. I think that operating the tractor helped me learn to drive before I was old enough to get a license.

As for the Real ID I have made a promise to myself that I will not take a Real ID document. This is a line in the sand for me and it will be as far as I will go. If I have to operate a vehicle without a license I will. I do not want my personal information in a centralized government database and no I am not a Luddite I think technology is a great thing but this database will be a great target for people who want to commit identity theft.

These are just the problems I can see in my very limited knowledge of the plans that the dictator wants to force on the serfs.

Do your own research and make up your own mind.

Republican Debate 10-21

I was watching the Republican debate and during Huckabee's first answer he said that most of the signers of the Declaration of Independence were clergy and according to the radicalacademy.com two of the signers were clergy and one was a active clergy member. 3 out of 56 is not most it is not even close.

Ron Paul pointed out that he is the truly anti-war candidate in either party. Ron also said he wanted to allow people to get out of the social security system and I would love to do that. I am in my late 20's and I know there won't be a social security when I get old enough to retire that is why I have a personal retirement account.

Romney said he is happy for the medical plan he created in Massachusetts. I was hearing a radio station from Mass and Hunter actually hit on the health care mandates that the plan. The mandates are that you have to have health care in Mass you are forced to do that even if you cant afford to pay for it.

Rudy made me vomit when he said "I care about the kids" then made me think if he does care about the kids where are his children from some of the things I have read his children don't even like him. Maybe Rudy just wants to replace his own kids.

McCain said he is against wasteful spending but if he was wouldn't he have voted against the spending? The only person that was on that stage who votes consistently against wasteful spending is Dr. No aka Ron Paul

Fred Thompson reminds me of a chicken going after feed.

I was trying to keep a tally of how many time each person got to speak and here is the results
Mitt "cowlick" Romney 9
Rudy "cell phone" Gulliani 8
Fred "I got a hot wife now" Thompson 8
John "war stories" McCain 7
Ron "Constitution" Paul 6
Mike "National Smoking ban" Huckabee 6
Tom "don't call me Tommy" Tancredo 4
Duncan "I but a wall" Hunter 4

I would think since no one in the Republican party is a running away they would want to try and be fair and balanced but who would think of a thing like that on Fox.

What the hell you can't buy a domain name

Being in the Information Technology field I was reading a article from Computer world you can read it here

The thing that got me thinking enough to write a blog post about it was that registering a domain name that was a typo is illegal. What?? So this means I can't legally register a domain name like macrosoft.com looking for people who make a mistake. I personally have mis-typed some domain names and found some great sites. Why is this illegal? If you walk in to a store thinking it was going to be a grocery store and it had candles and not groceries is that illegal? Just because our stores looked alike? What is this insanity if a company doesn't want people to get domain names that are typos then register those names or buy them from the owner.

Why are we paying people to write up stupid laws day after day, laws that just tell you what to do or what not to do, laws to tell you what to put in your body, laws to tell you who you can do business with (embargo anyone?). Just stop it we are adults and if we are not adults parents should set the rules for their children.

First Episode of Reason.TV

I was watching the fist episode of Reason.TV which is related to the Reason magazine. I have never subscribed to the magazine but I have looked at it from time to time. The first show was about Gridlock Hell on wheels. You can view it here

After watching it I got to thinking what would be another way to reduce traffic. How about the flying cars that I have been hearing about my ENTIRE life. Also I know one major reason why we do not have flying cars is the FAA would not allow that. Now if we did have flying cars what would be some of the benefits??? I would bet more land would become available because if everyone with a personal car was flying around and the roads would not need to be so wide a 8 lane highway probably could be cut down to 4 lanes if not 2 lanes since the only traffic would be the transportation of large items like delivery trucks and other things that would not be economical to fly around. So less roads would mean that less money would be needed to keep the roads running, which would mean that you would have to pay less taxes since taxes currently fund the roads. If you we used flying cars you would not have traffic jams except maybe to land if a lot of people were landing at the place but that would be very extreme since people could land from 4 directions at one time. Another benefit would be the time everyone would save. In the show Drew used one persons commute that was 16 miles and took 1 1/2 hours now lets say he earns $30 an hour which being a graphic artist I would not be surprised if it was more. So that daily commute cost him $90 a day which lets say he works 261 days a year and comes out to be $23,490 a year just for this one person. That is all lost productivity for one person. With that extra time people would be more efficient.

I think with more free time people would become more creative and with the creativity someone could invent the next great life changing invention, or paint a great masterpiece, write a great song, or look at a problem and figure out a cure for cancer, or just something simple like a father watching his son hit a home run at a little league game.

With all these benefits what is stopping this the FAA, yes the government is because some moron that thinks he or she has power does not want to give up that control.

Michigan Debate

***********Warning Began drinking while writing this post***********

Ok I watched the Debate in Michigan. Wow I was screaming at the TV during some peoples answers. The worst performance goes to Hunter. John Popeye Mcain seemed like he was taking some naps when the questions were asked and needs to get a hearing aid he cant hear the questions.

The CNBC poll was taken down but before it was tossed in to the memory hole a person took a screen shot you can see here http://newhampshireunderground.com/forum/index.php?topic=11256.0
Also on the MSNBC poll with 6706 votes the people think Ron Paul won the debate at 63% the next closest is Huckabee at 8.7%

Ron Paul seemed to get less questions then most of the other people but I would have to watch it again and I don't think I am going to waste my time with that. Ron hit on the nail on the head with the monitary system. The Federal Reserve (which is a private company just like FedEx is a private company) is just keeping the US government in debt and in that system you can never pay the debit it is impossible mathematically. It can be easily explained with a scaled down situation. Lets say you want to borrow a widget from me and I have the only person that has a widget and I tell you I will loan you this widget but I want a widget and a second widget now I never make a second widget and put it in the market you can never get that 2nd widget and you can never pay the debit.

I will say Huckabee did a fine job in the debate I just don't like a man who is a hypocrite and Huckabee is a hypocrite he says he is pro life and I think that is a great thing but he also supports the death penalty. If you are pro life you should support life every time every situation. I can not say I am pro life because I think a person owns their own body and if they want to kill themselves with a knife, a bullet, a poison, or even with a drink of alcohol (while I sip my sparkling wine) they should be able to do that.

If you don't think you own your own body then please tell me who does?

I think Fred Thompson is useless without a script so he needs to go back to Law and Order. He defiantly showed he cannot go through with this by the huge pause he made when answering his first question I thought my TV was on mute but he was not talking just looking with his shifty wrinckled eyes. Romney and Gulianni are two sides of the same huge government Fascist coin and Tancrado is useless and I don't know why he is still there.

Law Enforcement Against Prohibition

If you know me personally you are probably wondering what the hell am I doing talking about law enforcement. Yes normally I think the police are mostly there to give tickets to people who are not hurting anyone except maybe themselves. The law enforcement people I am going to be focusing on today are actually people who know one of the failed policies that the government is imposing on the people.

LEAP www.leap.cc is a group of current and former law enforcement and other people who worked in the government and know the harm that the "War on Drugs" is causing. I personally saw Jack Cole (a former undercover officer for 26 years with the NJ state police) speak at the New Hampshire Liberty Forum in early 2007. I do not agree totally with what Jack wants to do about drugs but I can support him and LEAP because it would be a step in the right direction. Jack would like to see drugs like marijuana, cocaine, heroine, and methanphetimine regulated and taxed but available to people who wish to use them.

Personally I think that living in a free nation which the United States has been called for a long time means that you can make your own choices. To me the most essential choice is what to do with your own body and that includes what substances you want to put in that body. Drugs have their own consiquences and the government does not need to ruin a persons life because they like to use one drug rather then another drug.

But enough of that I could write a book on that subject. On Monday October 15th at 8:00 p.m. Peter Christ will be speaking at University of Buffalo. Peter is a retired police captain from Syracuse NY where he worked for 20 years. If anyone is qualified to talk about what is happening with the drugs this man is. I would love to see all the police chiefs and DA's from the area go an participate but I am sure they will find some excuse not to go a open their eyes to the real problem not the drugs but the millions of people who have had their lives ruined because they were caught with a drug that the government did not approve. If you think differently please go see Peter and voice your objections at UB or even at the 2nd New Hampshire Liberty Forum in January of 2008.

Donations for Ron Paul surpass 1 million dollars (Dr. Evil laugh)

Late last night September 29th at about 10:31 pm eastern the thermometer on Ron Paul's website http:\\www.RonPaul2008.com went over the $1,000,000 mark. I was interested and watching the counter went up by more then $4,000 in the last minute. The people have come out and gave Ron's campaign a million in less then 6 days which I think is pretty amazing since according to a e-mail that was sent out by the campaign the majority of the donations are between $5 and $100.

The thermometer flash program from the website which is picture above I believe helped out a ton because when people donated to the campaign they could see their own name flash on the screen and throughout the Internet. I liked watching it to see where the donations were coming from and as you can believe they came from all over from Maine to Florida from Washington to California from Huston to Saginaw. I even noticed people from around the Western NY area. I personally noticed Orchard Park NY, Rochester, and even Wattsburg PA.

After doing some math if people only donated the maximum $2300 that would mean that 435 people would have donated to the campaign to get to the million dollar amount. The thing I really wonder is how many people that donated to the Ron Paul campaign never donated to a political campaign before. I know personally I never handed my money to a politician before unless there was a threat of punishment if I did not hand over the money.

Will the main stream media pick this up?? I really doubt it they seem to do everything they can to ignore Dr. Paul and his campaign. The Ron Paul revolution is picking up speed soon it may be impossiable for the main stream media to ignore the support behind the principles this man.

All American Presidential Forum

I was watching the Presidential forum and thought the questions were very clear and intelligent. The questions were not softballs at all, they were intelligent and asked about some great topics. I thought that they should have not brought up the names of the 4 morons that did not attend that much.

During the introduction Ron Paul got a loud cheer and I think the directors were shocked about that the first time but did not make that mistake again. I noticed after every answer from Ron Paul the lowered the volume and then when they moved on to the next candidate they raised the volume. This was noticeable a few times because they moved on and raised the volume while the crowd was still cheering.

I was horrified when I heard Hunter say Americans need to be shielded from pornography. Where does he get the gall to say that I need to be shielded from anything let alone people having sex or even the naked human body. If someone does not want to see pornography guess what look away, walk away, and stay in your own little bubble.

I thought Keyes was long winded and Tavis Smiley was getting angry when he said Keyes's time was up and Keyes kept on talking. I do applaud Tavis Smiley for holding Hunters feet to the fire during the question about what reform he would support to make sure people had equal justice in the United States. Tavis seemed to verbally spank Hunter to get him back on point.

For some reason Huckabee thinks that crime is caused by drugs and alcohol cause crime and I was horrified during this answer. The saving grace was Ron Paul answering that the War on Drugs needs to be repealed.

Dr Paul was finally given a question on health care and pointed out the 400 pound gorilla in the room and the problem with health care is the corpritism between insurance companies and the government and the problem with the FDA controlling the drugs that people can use. Also Dr. Paul said a couple times that we need to end the war on drugs, get rid of the welfare, restore property rights, expanding liberty, and letting people keep the fruits of their labor.

Dr. Paul also pointed out the inequities that the War on Drugs has with black people. Ron also reiterated that he is against the National ID cards but would be fine with states requiring identification for people to vote and if Washington DC wanted representation in the House and Senate a constitutional amendment should be submitted to change the constitution.

Overall I think the time was fairly evenly distributed and was fair to all the candidates.

Customs Strikes again

After I finished work and sent some articles off to Free Talk Live I left work and headed for the interstate. I was getting on to the interstate and at the on-ramp there was a man with a sign asking for a ride West so being that I was going that way I pulled over and let the man in and we were off. While on the interstate I asked him how far he was going and he told me this story I have took some of the conversation out but the spirit of the story is still there.

He was trying to get home to Morgantown West Virgina. He was a escort and when trying to cross the border in to Canada the customs officers had him pull off and get out of his car. They took him in and that was when things went terrible. He had some baking soda and the customs thought it was coke. They seized the suspected coke and his car. He told them the stuff was baking soda but they would not believe him and they escorted him back across the border and let him go in NY. So after having his car stolen and being strip searched he started to make his way home. He started walking and somewhere between Niagara Falls and Buffalo he got a short ride from a State Trooper. He got to Hamburg and last night he was stuck there and last night a thunderstorm came through. He told me he found a truck liner and slept under that while it rained and he kept sort of dry. He got to from Hamburg to Dunkirk where I picked him up and the person that gave him a ride gave him $10. I let him off at a truck stop in PA and gave him $15 I told him that he probably could find a trucker at that stop that would give him a ride closer to home.

I have no idea what happened to him but I hope he is almost home. When I was getting off at the stop I was really thinking about taking the guy all the way. I felt bad for the guy because I know personally what can happen at that border I have been harassed similar to the guy I was strip searched (down to my underwear) and had the car that I was driving damaged while they were looking for drugs the customs slit the leather seats and threw everything in the car around.

The Fox media spin

After the September 5th debate on Fox Hannity and Colmes I noticed during the Hunter interview Fox was showing the results from the text poll and while the results scrolled through Ron Paul the person doing the graphics put Hunters name up instead of the results for Ron Paul. I thought since the results stopped at R5 they would start up again at R6 which was Ron Paul but they started back at R7.

Just now at 11:58 they said the final results and Dr. Paul got 33% and is the winner by that poll.

Casino Gambling

Around Western NY there is a discussion about gambling well not gambling but Casino gambling. Now gambling is all over NY I can drive 1 mile away and gamble my life savings away down at the local convenience store so for the complaints that the Casino is going to suck up people's life savings is insane. Now I would like to state I have never been to a Casino not because they are too far away I could get to one within an hour drive but because I don't see the fun in it but I also don't see the fun in running either but I would not advocate passing a law banning running.

Some people may become addicted to gambling and I think they should have to take responsibility for their addiction and not take any money from me. It is sad that people become addicted to gambling but people become addicted to many things like smoking, alcohol, caffeine, sex, drugs, money, even working out, and eating healthy. Should all these things become illegal because some people can become addicted to them. I don't think so and if they were guess what more people would be imprisoned and killed at the hands of police just for trying to pursue their own happiness which is enshrined in the Declaration of Independence which could be considered the cornerstone of the society of the United States.

OK guess what people are going to do things you don't approve of. Get over it, you don't own them, if you cant stand to see that stay in your home close the curtains and sit in the dark. I am being callous but this is one of the three ideas that our forefathers fought for.

Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness

The Free State Project

You may be asking what the hell is the Free State Project?

Well the Free State Project aka FSP is a idea currently but can be a reality with you. The idea is to get 20,000 people who want to be free to move to one state in the union and work for freedom. You may be asking why? Well with a mass migration of the 20,000 people moving to a state like California would do nothing but that amount of people moving to a state like New Hampshire the amount of people to bring about change would be much much less. The idea of people moving to one place to bring about changes has been done before take the mormons moving to Utah to congregate together that group of people moved to make a community that respected their religious values, even the pilgrims coming to America could even be considered a migration movement.

The FSP is open to anyone who wants to be free. Democrats, Republicans, unaffiliated, gay people, married people, single people, anyone as long as you want to be free. The only thing that the FSP asks is once you move take action to help bring around freedom. That is so vague almost anything could be considered working toward freedom you could talk with your co-workers and discuss politics, holding a sign in a protest, voting, writing letters to the editor, even running for office.

New Hampshire currently could be considered one of the most free places on the Earth. Right now in New Hampshire and you are over 18 you can choose not to wear a seat belt if you don't want to, you have the choice to not wear a helmet when driving a motorcycle. New Hampshire has passed a law saying the state will not participate in Real ID which is in essence national ID. But there is still a long way to go to make New Hampshire a a free state so if you like the idea of living free check out the free state project at www.freestateproject.org.

Oh and for the marijuana activist the state name means "New Hemp town".

Allowing sick people medicine

This is a fairly controversial topic in the world we currently live in and I personally don't see why anyone could condone not allowing people to make their own choices on what substances to use to make them feel better.

This morning I was made aware that Gov. Sptizer has changed his mind on medical marijuana for sick people specifically people with debilitating diseases for example Multiple Sclerosis, AIDS, and cancer. With our current medical knowledge we cannot cure these diseases and the people that are stricken with these terrible diseases are in extreme pain. I hope that no one ever has to go through this pain but this is real life and I know that people every day are diagnosed and are suffering with diseases.

As some of you know I am no fan of Spitzer or really any other politician but Spitzer is beginning to realize he made a mistake with medical marijuana but not because he thinks people should be able to make their own decisions on what people can put in their own bodies but because who wants to be on the side saying a dieing person cant take this substance because it could what kill them (I have never heard of anyone dieing from smoking marijuana). The people with these diseases do not have the time or the energy to fight for this that is why people like you and I need to stand up and say let them do what they want as long as they do not hurt other people.

The 3rd Republican debate

OK I know I am a little late on this but hey I was in the hospital without my computer and Internet access. I was going though Internet withdrawal after the 1st night.

On to my thoughts. The winner of the debate was Ron Paul and that is not just a opinion but is what CNN's online poll said hands down. That poll does not mean anything really the only poll that means anything is on election day.

Dr Paul introduced himself as a congressman from Texas and "Champion of the Constitution" when I heard that tag line I was really shocked. But as I thought about it Ron is that in essence. During the debate I was disgusted with the camera work. The sound issues were understandable with the lightning that was going on but I am sure they could have used different mics and eliminated the sound dropping issue. OK enough with the technical stuff I think I would have noticed it less if I had a PC in front of me.

The best issue I thought that was brought up was what the question about what is the largest moral issue that is facing the United States and Dr Paul said it was the recently policy of preemptive war. I think preemptive war really isn't a new policy. You could definitely say Vietnam was a preemptive war and so was Korea. So that goes back to the 1950's. WWII was a little harder but the Japanese attack could because of the trade blockade and that blockade could be considered a military action. So that could be considered preemptive war that takes us back to 1940's. We could go further but that would take a lot of typing. But I do think that is a great answer to the question.

I would suggest if you have not seen the debate go watch and make up your own mind.

My retort to a video on youtube

I was looking around YouTube and found this video.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=7a2xHXP4Kn8

There were some things I wanted to correct from what I know personally these statements may be incorrect but I wanted to talk about some points and I could not do this in 500 characters or less.

First off the author Sonofnewo I think is the person in the video and he said that Ron Paul is pro-life when it comes to abortion. I believe Ron is pro-life and I think that can be backed up with some speeches but Ron Paul. Now Ron is also a constitutionalists and believes that the constitution is the supreme law of the land or should be and the 10th amendment says

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved for the States respectively, or to the people."

With that in mind Ron would have to support what the states or the people decided. If a state wanted to outlaw abortions within the boarders of the state they do have that ability as stated in the 10th amendment, and if a state did not have a law that power to perform abortions would be in the hands of the people. So what does all that mean is means Ron would not stop people from getting abortions he personally may think it is terrible but that is their choice. I know you are probably not going to believe me but I actually have no opinion on the subject of abortion I can see their would be problems created with both sides. I don't think I should have any opinion on this subject until my girlfriend or wife asks me for that opinion.

Second subject the author hit on was the Federal Reserve. I don't think Ron Paul would shut down the Federal reserve. Now wait you may be saying I heard him say that, yes you did but the Fed is a complex issue we need to differentiate between the Federal Reserve which is a private company that lends to the United States just like XYZ Bank may lend you money for a house the difference is the payment book when you get a payment book for your house it usually looks like a check book and has pieces of paper that you send in with your payment. Well the Fed's payment book is a little different they have multiple payment books some are never seen by the public and some are seen every day, the ones you are familiar with is the dollars you have in your wallet. Those are the representation of debt that the US government owes to the Fed so when someone says money you think of the green papers but nope that is actually debt.
With that little lesson on the Fed we need to talk about the Federal Reserve Act which is a law that was passed back in the early 20th century this act sets up a monopoly for the Federal Reserve.
What I believe Ron Paul is talking about is the Act he wants there to be competition for the currency in the United States if this came to pass there may be one currency everyone in the United States uses or there could be regional currency for example everyone on the west coast uses currency A and everyone in the middle of the country uses currency B and everyone on the east coast uses currency C. The author also said he thought that eliminating the Federal Reserve could have adverse effects on the economy in the US I think that these competing currencies are probably going to actually have something behind them with most of the currencies around the world they are not back by anything other then the promise of the government that is using that currency, if you look back through history that is a bad idea because all governments have fallen and history seems to repeat so I think that governments will keep on falling. If the currency is backed by something like gold or silver companies would be more likely to use that currency because if the bank does go belly up they will still have something that can be sold and they would not loose all their purchasing power.

Now this is just brief overlook and I would urge you to look in to this further I do not know everything about the Fed but this is my opinion using the knowledge I currently have.

Ron Paul's coments during the 2nd republican debate

Afternoon everyone this is going to be a intellectual post so dust off a few brain cells and you may need to look some things up to verify everything I am communicating is true. With that said lets chew the fat.

First off this second debate had more substance but still the debate lacked interaction other then the segment I will call the shock heard around the world between Representative Ron Paul and Giuliani. First off you need to know where Dr. Paul is coming from if you are going to figure out where he is going with his answers. Dr. Paul is a strict constitutionalists which means if something is not written in the constitution or the amendments to the constitution it is UNCONSTITUTIONAL this is the true meaning. The way the government was set up was that the supreme court was supposed to say this is constitutional this is unconstitutional that has not been the case for a long time. If you understand those facts you should be able to figure out where Ron Paul was coming from.

Now lets get to Ron Paul's message why 9/11 occurred. He said that it was because of the governments policies not just in the Middle East but all around the world. I hate to break this to you but guess what it's true. The U.S. government has been screwing around with other countries and have been supporting dictatorships around the world. If you don't believe me look in to the US policies in the Middle East. Lets just look at Iraq, Saddam did come in to power without the help of the US government but he would have been outed long ago by the citizens of that country if the US did not supply him with money and weapons. In Iran the US has empowered the Shah in Iran and gave tons of support. Just these two examples should be enough to make people realize that maybe the US government did contribute to the 9/11 attacks not to mention the CIA was working with Bin Laden in Afghanistan. I will tell you there are more examples I could keep going on for pages but please look in to the history of what the US government has done.

I know this is tough to understand and even harder to swallow but sometimes the truth hurts but truth is always better then lies. Now on to the idea that the terrorist hate Americans because of the freedoms Americans have and coke and Britney Spears. This idea is the craziest thing I ever heard. Do Americans hate people in Amsterdam because they have the freedom to buy and consume marijuana? No why would Americans care about what the citizens in Amsterdam put in their bodies. The argument holds about as much water as a collender.

Now I have been praising Ron Paul but I think he is wrong on a couple of his ideas but I know where Ron Paul stands on issues and I will agree with Ron on most issues I will take that rather then taking a fascist or a socialist.

2nd republican presidential debate

Ok First off I think I was tripping I heard Brownback say we need to cherish all life but he supports to keep the war in Iraq going which results in deaths of both American soldiers and Iraqi people every day. He needs to stick with a principle and say with it you cant support a principle when you think it suits you.

I would have to say Ron Paul was definitely the most exciting candidate and no one can say he is just a carbon copy of the rest of the candidates. Ron was very candid he pointed out the real reason why the 9/11 hijackers targeted the United States. In case you missed it was because we have been fucking around with their countries for years and we still are. If the United States has a army which I think is unconstitutional except for 2 year stints but that is for another day. Also during the question about the hypothetical question about the terrorist attack I have to give props to Ron for pointing out the rest of the people on that stage wants to take away your rights or other if it does good for the collective.

Why Down with Big Brother?

I figure I should explain why I named my blog "Down With Big Brother". For starters if you have not read 1984 by George Orwell please take some time to read it free Here. The book is fiction but I think we all know fiction can become a fact especially with time. I as a American believe that we are at a fork in the road we can either proceed toward liberty where every person who lives in the States is free to do what they wish as long as they do not harm another person, or to a police state that will make Nazi Germany, and Communist Russia blush. I would like to see the first option prevail but to get freedom personally you and I have to make sacrifices.

What does the statement "Down with big brother" mean to me? It is sort of a rallying cry to say I can make decisions for myself I do not need or want someone looking over my shoulder telling me don't do that or this. People learn the consequences of decisions one of 2 ways.

1. They plunge in make the choice and then have to deal with the consequences. This is learning by making mistakes sort for example I make the decision to touch a hot stove with my hand the consequences are that I will get burnt.
2. Research other people that have made the decision previously and make the choice based on that research. For example I will research what a stove does and what high heat can do to a human body and I make the decision to wear a protective glove before touching the stove the consequences are that I do not get burnt because I took the actions of others before me and added a new variable to the problem.

Big brother is there to make the choices you are just a puppet and Big brother is pulling the strings. I don't know about you but that sounds like slavery to me and I do not want to be a slave.

Now the question is for you. Will you choose to support Big Brother or will you choose to make decisions for yourself only you can make that decision.

ABC Censored my posts

I made a post on ABC's site last night with a link to my blog here because of the retort I wrote to their story on the "Ron Paul effect."My post was remove within a matter of minutes. I noticed the number of posts drop 10 total posts in 2 minutes. What did ABC expect when they publish a opinion piece on candidate for the office of president of these United States. I don't normally like any politicians but when a politician has proven himself by voting on principle year after year that makes me want to give that politician a extra glance. I actually met Ron Paul this winter in NH just before he announced he was going to run for president and he seemed to be like the NH granite not easily changed.

Back to ABC they brought the shit storm that is going to happen by pissing off a lot of people. I have seen blogs about the censoring of the posts even by people that out right support other presidential candidates. From what I can tell most American people like companies that they get services and products from to listen to the customer, you know the old saying the customer is always right. I do think ABC owns the servers and the code that runs on them and can do what ever they want with that property if they want to allow only racists comments they should be allowed to do that but they should not complain when people find out what they are doing and stop using their services and products. Personally I like the local ABC news channel but I am going to try and not tune in to the network I may break down watch John Stossel but it would have to be a interesting story.

Is Big Brother using the government as a puppet?

OK I guess I should relate my blog posts to the title of my blog.

This is not a conspiracy theory but something is not smelling right in Denmark. According to ABC article about the "Ron Paul Effect". From what I can get out of that article it sounds like ABC believes that the online poll at MSNBC was bogus and was manipulated. I personally voted at that poll and I know that I was only able to vote once so it appeared to me that the poll was not easily exploitable. I did not dig in and try to exploit it being a Information Technology professional I know there is always a way to change 1's and 0's. Back to the article they make a guess that a group of people or even 1 person could have manipulated the poll, like I said this is possible but you need to look at who would be behind this conspiracy and the group that is very vocal for Ron Paul is Libertarians and the mainstream media did any checking about libertarians they would find out that fraud is against the libertarian principles which is at the core of the beliefs. So thinking about that I am really questioning ABC's conspiracy.

Now if ABC is going to create a conspiracy they need to cover a few more bases. The conspiracy needs to have a leader saying libertarians is like saying black people. They need a reason why the group would do this i.e. money, power, or sex.

Lets talk about money? Libertarian's what to keep their money and be able to make profits by providing customers with a product or service.

Lets talk about power? Libertarian's want the people to have the power to choose for themselves what to do with their body, property, and time.

Lets talk about sex? This is just a insane idea that Ron Paul would get the group sex at all. Well maybe since libertarians think you can do with your body what you want as long as it is not hurting someone else there could be more group sex. <--- That was a joke

So saying that I can't see ABC's conspiracy getting any traction even with the American people listening to their "news" broadcasts. (I put "news" in quotations because I cant call something like Anna Nicole Smith's death news.)

GOP Debate - 08

Disclaimer - I am not a republican, I am not a democrat, nor affiliated with any other political party!!

Now to my thoughts. I was watching the GOP debate last night because it was commercial free and I was playing a computer game and wanted something to listen to. After the debate finally got started and Chris Mathews stopped explaining the rules to the audience. I got the feeling that all the people on the stage wanted to distance themselves from the current president.

The first time I stopped playing my game was when Congressman Ron Paul spoke for the first time he was asked about his vote against the Iraq war which was a inaccurate question because no matter how many times people say we are at war congress never declared war and congress has not declared war since WWII. Ron Paul got my attention and kept it for the entire time he was speaking actually when he finished his answer I was clapping my hands. Ron's answer to the question was straight to the point and displayed his thought process.

Some of my feelings from the other candidates is that McCain is a warmonger and Mathews gave him too much leeway and more questions then the other candidates. Huckabee has a face like Nixon but none of Nixon's charisma. The rest of the lineup seemed like they were all clones and they did not impress me at all and some made me ill.

I think Ron Paul was given a softball with the question asking if he would eliminate the IRS. Ron took that softball and hit it out of the park. Getting rid of the IRS is a issue that will resonate with every American and who wants to fill out the forms before April 15th. Ron said multiple times he is not in favor of the Iraq war and that the foreign policy needs to be changed. The US is not the police of the world and the US should not be.

The abortion item is a issue I personally do not have feelings about this has been my stance since I heard about the topic. I think I have no say what goes on in another person's body and I would like the same respect. I can see the argument from both sides but as I look at the issues that come up with the war on drugs I see what happens when the government prohibits something but I think if people in a town do not want abortions going on in their town they can make a law that says that but the people of the town will have to bear the responsibility. From what I have been able to find Ron Paul would not make a law prohibiting it but leave the decision up to the community as the 10th amendment says.

Bill of rights myths and truth

OK I have explained what the bill of right is to a few people and I think this needs to be addressed. I am no constitutional scholar but I think I understand a little more then the average person.

Myth #1 The bill of rights are the rights American citizens have.
Truth: The Bill of Rights (the first 10 amendments to the US Constitution) is there to tell the government how far they can go in infringing on your rights. For example the 1st amendment says to the government that they can not pass laws against types of speech.

Myth #2 You can exercise your rights anywhere in the United State.
Truth: You can not exercise your rights on private property unless the owner gives you permission. For example I cannot come in to your home and begin yelling about how Adolf Hitler was correct in killing people.

Myth #3 You can only use the 5th amendment when you are in court.
Truth: You have the right not to incriminate yourself all the time. This right is very important especially if you get pulled over by the police. The first question the officer is going to ask is is "Do you know why I pulled you over?" This is a trick question the officer is attempting to get you to incriminate yourself by saying something like "I didn't use my turning signal."

Myth #4 The right to speech only means that you can speak.
Truth: The right to speech also includes the right not to speak. We will use the example from above where the officer asks you "Do you know why I pulled you over?" You do not have to answer the question you can stay silent or better yet exercise your rights and let the officer know you are aware that you do not have to answer him by saying "I do not feel comfortable answering any questions without my attorney present." If you are going to exercise your rights you need to stay silent (which can be hard if the officer keeps tying to get you to speak.

Myth #5 You should let the police search your car.
Truth: This could be a bad idea!!!! If you let the officer search your car it could be torn apart and you have to put it back together. When you allow the officer to search your car you are telling them that you wave your 4th amendment rights. If the officer has a warrant to search you SHOULD NOT stop them. If they have a warrant you have bigger problems and should get a lawyer and keep your mouth shut. If the warrant is not valid or was obtained without probable cause your lawyer can get it thrown out including anything they find.

This is enough myths and truth for now I will explain more in future posts. I am not a lawyer and am not giving any legal advice just explaining things as I see them.

Home raided because of tomato plants

I found this story at http://www.kndo.com/Global/story.asp?S=6336522&nav=menu484_2 which to me looks to be a fairly reputable news source. This man had his home invaded because the landlord said he saw marijuana being grown. OK lets say that the landlord did not know what marijuana looks like because he may not have seen a marijuana leaf which if you look around the Internet or watch a couple of cheech and chong movies. My question is why didn't the landlord tell his tenants that marijuana cultivation is not permitted in the apartment/house. I bet if the landlord would have said that they would have told him that it was tomato plants and probably would offer him a tomato or two when they were ripe (I have grown tomatoes and I know that even a few plants produce a lot of tomatoes I gave bushels away just to get rid of them). I really feel sorry for the tenants who I bet are looking for a new place with a landlord that would not call the cops on them for growing something in their home.

What really tweaks my nipples is that the police did not even question the landlord because the first question would be what did the plants look like and what kind of leaves did they have maybe the second question would be has he ever seen the tenants use any drugs with those answers I would question the landlords statement.

The police did not need to break in to these peoples sanctuary. It is not described in the article I read but I bet they broke the door also we all know cops like to get the high from breaking in a door a treating the people inside the home as if they were Al Capone.

This is just one more failure of the War on Drugs and not even a failure that is even questioned. No government bureaucrat will be held responsible for the violation of the tenants 4th amendment rights and the tenants property rights. These people have suffered a invasion of their privacy.

Did the media question this? Nope they were too busy talking about a old fart on the radio saying something of color and who was the father of some woman that was in playboy.

Man spends over 2 Decades in prison wrongly

Unless you live in the Buffalo area you may not know about Anthony Capozzi. I personally do not know him either but I feel sorry for the torture he has endured. To make a long story short Anthony was convicted of 2 rapes over 20 years ago. Just today the State of New York proved using DNA evidence that they convicted the wrong person of these rapes.

So any normal person would think they would let him out today. If you think that you are totally wrong, he may have to spend 30 more days in prison for a crime he did not commit 22 years ago. According to a media source in the area that spoke with a Judge they are trying to expedite the process but the earliest he believes Anthony will be released is Monday which is 6 days away.

You may think that I have gone overboard by using the word torture to describe the treatment Anthony went through but I can not think of a better word. This man is innocent you know it I know it the State knows it but they are still going to keep him locked up in a cell. If I kept you locked in a room for 6 days I would be charged with kidnapping and probably a bunch of other crimes, the State of New York does it and they call it wrapping up paperwork not to mention the 22 years this man had to spend locked behind steel bars and concrete.

I don't know about you but I think that someone should be punished for this crime against Anthony. As you and I know nothing will come from this except some press, I would make a bet that no one will even lose their job.

Real money!

You may not know this but the dollars you have in your wallet or purse are worthless.

OK worthless is not totally correct but every day and every minute that dollar becomes worth less and less and eventually they will be worthless. If you read the dollar it the dollar is a "Federal Reserve Note" the Federal Reserve is not part of the United States Government it is a private company. The note is a representation of debt that the United States Government owes to the corporation called the Federal Reserve just like your mortgage papers are a representation of the debt you have for your property. This subject can be talked about for days but I am just going to give you a taste I would urge you to go and do your own research.

There are ways to hedge against your money becoming pieces of paper that are not worth the price of paper. One option is investing your money in some type of business but that business could go bankrupt and you would loose all your money. Other ways is to buy a commodity for example Gold, Silver, copper, wood, corn, hogs, beets. The prices of commodities sometimes go up with inflation (which makes your money worth less and less) and sometimes the price of the commodities go down for example the price of a beet is less then it was years ago due to more production better ways to grow the product. Now metals are a limited resource there is only so much Gold in the earth and once it is all mined that is all we have until we look on other places like other planets and asteroids. With that in mind I believe a metal is a better hedge on inflation then a food product.

If you would like to keep the value of some of your money you might want to look in to the Liberty dollar you can find more information on this at http://www.norfed.org . The Liberty dollar comes in different forms some are actual silver and other are notes that look like a dollar. If you do want to check out the liberty dollar I would suggest you get the actual silver pieces just to hold in your hand and feel what actual money feels like.

This is not investing advice just information for you. I am not affiliated with NORFED either just to let you know.

NY Govoner wants to tax Indians

You may not know about this unless you live in the Western New York area. This is a issue that has come up back in the mid 1990's and it is rearing its ugly head again. The names have changed but it is still the same old issue. The Seneca Indian reservation which is a sovereign nation has businesses that sell gasoline and tobacco products without a heavy tax like New York, there is a small tax which I believe the Indian nation uses.

The dictator aka governor of New York State wants to impose the same tax on any tobacco product that is sold on the reservation that is imposed on businesses that reside in New York. You may be thinking "so what they should pay their fair share" The problem is that the reservation is sovereign territory which means it is a nation just like Canada, Mexico, Brazil, or China. This is like telling China you must impose the same taxes that NY imposes on businesses in the state.

This is insane and if the politicians in NY would open up a history book and pull their heads out of another body cavity they would realize that this is going to end badly. In the 90's the Indian's put tires on the roads entering the nation and burned them. Two interstate roads travel through the reservation I-90 and I-86. If the governor proceeds I fear that something like this will happen again which does not affect the politicians directly but it does hurt the people that will have to travel around the reservation not to mention that back in the 90's many state troopers were called to the area to stand off with the Indians.

Why can't New York just leave the Indians alone. They have not tried to take land without compensation, they have not attacked the surrounding towns. All they have done is let business open and provide a product to the people that pass through their nation. They have not opened up tolls for everyone entering their nation they do not search everyone traveling through their nation.

Spitzer leave the peaceful Indians alone!!!
